Before you book
How do the sessions work?
Each session is a live one-to-one video call with a shared screen. We work through the unit your class is on, using exam-style questions and, where it helps, an interactive simulation. You get notes and practice questions afterwards.
What does it cost?
The first 30-minute diagnostic call is free. After that, a one-hour session is $40. There is no contract and no minimum number of sessions.
I am in the US. Which times are available?
Sessions are offered in the evening across US time zones. When you request a call you choose your time zone and say which days and times suit you, and you get a confirmed time by email.
Who will my tutor be?
An experienced chemistry tutor from our team, matched to you after the free diagnostic call. We have been tutoring since 2019, and you work with the same tutor every week. Read more.
Do I need an account?
Unit 1 and its 36 practice questions are open to everyone, no account needed. Units 2 to 9, all 188 practice questions and the simulations are free with an account: sign up with your email or with Google in a few seconds. Your account also saves your scores and shows your accuracy for each unit.
Are these official AP exam questions?
No. The questions here were written for this site in the style of the exam. For official past questions, use AP Classroom or the released free-response questions on the College Board website.
My class uses a different textbook. Does that matter?
No. Every AP Chemistry class follows the same nine units, so tutoring fits alongside any textbook or teacher and follows the order your class is teaching.
Can a parent join the call?
Yes. Parents are welcome on the diagnostic call, and a short progress note is sent after every session.
I am starting late in the year. Is it too late?
No. The diagnostic call shows which units need the most attention, and review starts with the units that carry the most weight on the exam.
